Fatawa

These fatawa are written according to the Hanafi school, drawing on its classical sources and its established principles for deriving rulings, including istihsan, custom (ʿurf), and the needs of time and place.

Each fatwa uses Fatwa Flags, a standardized header that shows the methodology behind the ruling: the sources it relies on, the reasoning it follows, and how firmly it is held. Rather than presenting only a conclusion, each fatwa shows its work, so readers can understand not just what the ruling is, but why.

Fatawa are written in response to real questions facing Muslims today, particularly in the West. A ruling addresses the question as it was asked and the circumstances described. If your situation differs, consult a qualified scholar.
