Qur’an For High School Students

High school students in America are on the frontline of an intellectual and spiritual battlefield. Every 60 seconds, a Muslim high schooler is exposed to something that is blatantly anti-Islamic and targets their core beliefs. Without a strong foundation in their faith and core Islamic values, the next generation of Muslims in America is at risk. The only solution is to empower every Muslim who can read and write through the Qur’an. The Qur’an was revealed to a people facing a much graver intellectual genocide. The people it was revealed for thought of women as material goods and buried their own daughters alive. However, the Qur’an changed them in just 23 years into a nation that brought the Sassanid Empire and East Byzantium Empire to their knees. The Qur’an has the power to change not just individuals but entire societies. To achieve this, we must allow our young Muslims to live through the Qur’an and be inspired by the same words that inspired legends like Ali, Mus’ab bin Umair, Bilal bin Rabah, Umar bin Khattab, Mu’adh bin Afraa, and Jabir bin Abdullah. These heroes were all youngsters, some were even early teens when they accepted the message of the Qur’an. They lived through this book, they bled for it, and they died for it. Today's youngsters can also be inspired by the Qur’an. The first step is to remove the language barrier. It may not be easy, but it is most certainly worth it. The answers to all of our questions have been already given to us. All we have to do is look.
